Introduction –

Finally the Lost CD arrived!!!! Well it did a fair few weeks ago so I was able to begin with our sinister tribute to Lost introduction. Thanks to Stuart who provided the voice and makes a guest appearance this time around and to Jamie who helped edit….I told him he would get a credit.

Song 1 – Justice Vs Simian – we are Your Friends (Remix)

“This remix of Simian’s “Never Be Alone has been going round the dancefloor’s of Europe for a fair time now but its re-release should finally give it the recognition it deserves. The surprisingly compatible combination of funky Daft-Punk-esque beats and the “psychedelic folk wailing of Simon Lord comes courtesy of the Parisian DJ duo Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge, aka Justice.

From the intro of stabbing synths it’s a controlled mess of tight breaks and funky bass lines that samples only the “We are your Friends, You’ll never be alone again chorus line from Simians original.

“We are your friends undeniably has enough infectious appeal to make it a hit and with their greatly anticipated debut
album destined for release later this year it doesn’t look like this will be the last we hear of Justice.

Irish Sarah left us three challenges which leads to Dave and Tyler talking about Emo, saying Ass and talking in an Eastern European accent before they move on to other correspondence including Pedro from the Ceders, (http://www.myspace.com/theonlycedars) and Dave’s fashion sense.

Taking Issues a bit more seriously Dave and Tyler talk about the biased reporting and touch on the politics of the current Middle East Crisis-not fun but sometimes things have to be said.

Song 4 – Britney Spears – Hit Me Baby One More Time

“17 at the time of this release, Louisiana's teen dream Britney Spears works her guts out for every vowel and yearning growl on this impeccable slice of middle America. Partly produced from the same stable as the Backstreet Boys, Britney's songs have a strange, submissive twist: the full title of the mind-blowing debut single should be "Hit Me Baby One More Time." Obviously "Hit"'s got an okay slang meaning now but the song and much of the mood of this album strikes a direct line to the Ronette's "He Hit Me And It Felt Like A Kiss" in its desperate need to keep a boy by her side. Britney may be the young front for some middle-age money-makers but that's beside the point. She puts her life into this record; whether you like her teen pop or not, that dedication cannot be ignored.
