The ILP - Show 14 12/02/07

Introduction –

Valentines Day is upon us again! So we here at The ILP are offering a one off time limited service-yes ILP Chat, for those of you who are alone. Well the into. Speaks for itself really and then we finally tell you what is coming up in a show….

Dave yet again picks the first love song to begin this sinking ship and who could do better than a random B side cover of Muse huh?

Link 1 –

As it’s Doug’s birthday today you can hear all the preparations going on in the background, which to be fair possibly was not he best idea as it’s all a tad distracting. Alas we solider through and beginning by discussing Genki’s philosophy. I should point out that this is not her philosophy more something that she read and was a discussion point which worked really, really well! The Pizza guy roles up and whist we chomp away we discuss Debbie being sexual with pizza-one reason we always have pizza whilst recording ;-)

Our competition that was launched-to win the rest of the vinyl and we had one whole entry! Yes indeed Lisa won! This is before we go on to talk about Debbie’s failure to start a balloon riot at the Ass Now gig! Dave then goes on about the story of how he got together with his ex-it’s probably inappropriate but it’s the only story that we had-well other than Debbie’s story about breaking her neck, eek! (Debbie’s neck that is).

Song 2 – The Undertones – Hypnotise

This is Tyler’s choice and again he was having mucho trouble choosing a song so we decided to drop him in it and make a last ditch attempt. Aparently he once put it on a Valentines complication for Jude-ah how sweet!

Link 2 –

Jamie is joined by Tyler for the first time in the studio whilst everyone else has fucked off for a fag and is sorting things out for later (you might well miss that as Tyler try’s to not make a big deal about the whole thing). Jamie unsuccessfully tries to tempt Tyler into breaking the world record for the longest kiss-which Tyler claims is a load of old crap but at least this has a valentines edge to it. The shocking record is 31hours and 30 min completed during the July 7^th bombings-now that is dedication!

Tyler ten launches a new competition which no one will enter again-yes you get eh chance to name his foos ball players and win fuck all in the process other than the honour of naming a player-joy. Not that the rest of us are being cynical or anything-never ;-) However with it being Jamie everything gets related to Jurassic Park and this was the point that even I got lost and luckily the neighbours popped by (for Doug’s “party� to save the day and to stop them talking. You can hear how scared Jess and Lia get as they walk into a house where they know no one. This is because the others were out making sure that Doug got pissed.

           

Song 3 – The Fratellis – For The Girl

Chosen by John. John put much thought into this song as when asked what his song was this week he said er, one off this CD as that’s what I’m listening to at the moment. Well it’s a great song form a great band and it’s their second ILP outing!

The birthday boy returns to much screaming and party poppers in his face! I thin this is the most people we have EVER had on mic at the same time

(excluding the party). Doug opens his present and cake is brought to a fabulous rendition of “Happy Birthday�. Champaign is opened and Doug is give three

choices as to how to drink it-yes wait and here which one he chooses, so classy! However Tyler disturbing let’s out some dirty secrets-it’s a little disturbing

so we might not have him back but hey as it’s Tyler…well you decide!

Song 4 – The Smashing Pumpkins – Bodies

As it’s Doug’s birthday we decided to let him pick a happy love song so…he said fuck that and picked a deeply depressing song instead with “Love is suicide� shouted over and over again. But hey it fits in with the general tone of the show so hey and it is by the greatest band in the world so again Rock-nice choice Doug!

Link 4 –

Link four begins a tad differently form normal, after we have kicked everyone out and this podcast is seamless-yes John has some special messages from a special person. Dave is told that Housemate is not stalking him and Tyler is told to do the washing up. We then get the special guest on the phone for the very first time and he reveals Tyler’s tactics to playing poker-to be quite frank with Tyler’s skill’s his money is anyone’s so we are not suggesting that he should be hitting the casino anytime soon!

It wouldn’t be the forth link without the correspondence and Tyler recaps the highs and lows of the last couple of weeks of chat. Out new fave listeners in no particular order are Debbie and Meghan (which I think we forgot to say) as they have been making us laugh the most recently! Well done! Oh and Genki has finally received her single that she won back in November!

This time Dave rants against gossip columns and the use of the term “showbiz pals�. We are not really sure as the argument is never really coherent but what more would we expect form our dyslexic friends-ell the others agree with him so our message to them is to get a fucking life!

Song 5 – The Clash – I’m Not Down

Another great song to finish the show as chosen by Debbie. This is her happy song and is good to dance around to once you have finished a relationship-there we go hitting the valentines day spirit again! Joy-it’s a great so so enjoy and until the next time!
